To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time We recognize that your time is valuable and will make every effort to respect that while providing the best of care to your pet.
When the doctor is performing surgery we are unable to schedule office appointments. For your convenience, “admit” appointments are available. An “admit” means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us until the veterinarian is available to examine him/her. Usually we will ask you to arrive sometime in the morning so he /she can be examined in between procedures or other appointments. The doctor will be able to go over his findings and diagnosis with you at a pre arranged discharge time later in the day. There is a nominal kennel charge for hospital care and monitoring when using this service.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date prior to being admitted to our hospital.
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
We understand that responsible pet ownership and quality veterinary care is not inexpensive. At Muskoka Animal Hospital we will make every effort to provide you with a Care Plan for your pet in advance of significant treatments, so that you can plan for their care to the best of your ability.
At Muskoka Animal Hospital, we accept payment by Cash, Interac, Visa, Mastercard or PetCard. Payment is due when services are rendered.
Medical emergencies occur when least expected, and due to their very nature, timely medical treatment is imperative to a positive outcome. When owners are burdened with financial decisions during an emergency, our ability to provide the best level of medical care can be compromised.
We encourage all pet owners to consider the financial commitment of responsible pet ownership before an emergency actually occurs.
Pet Insurance that covers accident and illness, or third party financing such as Pet Card or Healthsmart are excellent options. We would be happy to assist you in obtaining more information on how pet insurance, PetCard or Healthsmart can help you with payment options for your pets veterinary care expenses
